Ballito based artist Solett began her professional career as a classical violinist, taking up oil painting while studying her music degree in Durban. She comes from a family where art and music have been part of every day life and her first oil painting was done with her mother's paints. Never having attended art classes and being self taught, Solett brings a fresh approach through her uncomplicated art. She is well known for her monks in reds and oranges, being drawn to the serenity they embody.
