Painted from a photo taken while on safari in Thanda Game Reserve (South Africa). We encountered a huge heard of elephants on their way through the bush to a watering hole. This beautiful matriarch came past the game vehicle rather close by but seemed to be smiling at us. With the sunset glow highlighting the textures of her skin, I could not resist doing this painting.
