Another painting of my niece, Lienka. Just loved the bold contrast of the little green dress and the wildly red “wellies” (boots). I only realised days into the painting that I was faced with having to reproduce a crazy white pattern and very finely embroidered squares on the front of the dress- not something I have done before and could not possibly neglect as I am sure this frock was made with care by a grandmother or aunt.
